Happy Sunday Lovelies!!

So Fall has finally graced us in Southern California with cooler temperatures, and you know what that means?! It’s jackets, scarves and boots season!! WOHOO!!! I was selected to test The Rondje Top by The Eli Monster a few weeks ago, and I kid you not, it is hands down, the quickest sew I’ve ever done – 20 minutes from start to finish! NO LIE!  It’s a super cute rounded cardigan that runs from size 2T to 12 Kids. Now, the pattern calls for fleece or flannel lined with jersey (optional), but as soon as I saw the pattern I instantly had a vision of Jersey Knit lined with Minky. And as you know, when I get these instant “visions” I have to comply with the brain or else there is no sleeping. #truestory

The hubby had this pink Minky in his stash from the puppet he made for Abigail before she was born, so I decided to “borrow” it because it match so nicely with this adorable princess knit.

She loved the coziness of the Cardigan, in fact she just didn’t want to take it off, – she said she felt “royal” …haha. It was the perfect cover up for the brisk evening we had at the park.

It was my first time sewing minky and knit together, and although they can be “difficult” slippery fabrics to work with, I think it came out pretty nice considering the fabric choices. It’s so cozy I want to make one for myself. It’s a lovely pattern and would be the perfect pattern for a beginner seamstress. I’ll surely be making a couple more of these in the future!

That’s it for today guys! Hope you guys are having a wonderfully lazy Sunday! Talk to you soon! xoxo

  1. I bought this pattern for my daughters. I googled it to get some ideas. Wow, yours blows away my original idea – so beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Thank you Cheryl! What I love about patterns is that you don’t have to stick 100% to the instructions, it’s always fun to get creative and think outside the box! =D Happy sewing!
