Happy Hump Day Lovelies!!
It’s been forever since I did a Pattern Review, and since I just finished Pattern Testing this Dress, I thought why not! So today, let me tell you about the Tilly Dress by MCM Studio Designs.
Pattern Description: – The Tilly Dress by MCM Studio Design Patterns
The Tilly Dress is a lovely little dress based off of a kimono bodice. Ruffles, sleeve flounces and a swooped overskirt really dress up the simple styling of this dress. Two skirt options are given, either a single skirt or a double skirt. The bodice is styled with a loose fit and a v-neck in the back so that it slips over the head and requires no buttons or zippers. As comfortable as it is pretty, this little dress is sure to make your little one feel like a princess.
Pattern Sizing: Size 2 – 6 years. I made a Size 3.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern once you were done sewing it? YES
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes. I’ve tested for MCM Studio Designs before and the instructions and illustrations have always been very easy to follow.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I The pattern calls for ribbon for the ties, but I didn’t have any that matched the color of the fabric, so I decided to make the straps from the fabric of the main.
What did you particularly like about the pattern? I have a special love for MCM Studio because her pattern are always vintage in nature. For this pattern, I loved that it had no button or zipper closures and I love the “Little House on the Prairie” feel it had to it plus the fact that the entire bodice and sleeves are lined. Makes for a very beautiful finish.
What did you dislike about the pattern? Not a thing.
Fabric Used: Bloom Flower Yard Wine and Broadcloth Soft White both from Michael Miller Fabrics.
