Happy Hump Day My Lovelies!

Today’s feature will be my last dress feature for our trip. *wuh wuh wuuuuuh*.

This particular post is very special to me, because our shoot takes place at my family home.   I saved the best for last! haha! It’s hard to believe this house started with just four walls. I remember growing up my Dad would add on another piece to the house, little by little, each year.  Through the span of 32 years, between his eye for floor planning and my Mom’s interior decorating fancies it has turned into this. =)

Our shoot doesn’t take place inside the house though, it takes places in the garden, on a swing a set that my Dad made for me when I was probably about 7 years old. Twenty-five years later it’s still standing. When my Dad learned that we were coming home for Christmas,  he installed new seats and gave it a brand new paint job – just for Abigail.

It was pretty surreal to see her swinging there, on the swing I grew up on; it was almost like looking at myself – pretty trippy! There are so many wonderful memories had by us and our family and friends on that swing set, I hope it lives on forever. =)

I created this dress using Abbie’s measurements and added half an inch on the sides so that she would get a little longer wear from them. This beautiful vibrant fabric is yet another Michael Miller print – you can see why I love them so much right? You can find it HERE.

The front and back bodice are fully lined with 2 closure snaps in the back. I prefer snaps over zippers because they are so much more easier to install.

Now for action shots! lol

“Abbie can I see your dress?”
“Here! Here it is Mom!!” – lol

And seriously, how cute are those jelly sandals? I picked them up from Old Navy sometime last year.

Doesn’t she just make you want to go to the playground and get on some swings too? =)
