Hello Hello Again!

Yep! I’m posting back to back (or atleast trying to) this week! I have a full plate of projects ahead so I wanted to be sure I got these features out asap!  Today is PART 5 of our Christmas in Belize and our visit to Belcampo Belize featuring a Very Twirly Dress. Belcampo Belize is a luxury resort in the heart of the hills of Toledo with one of the most spectacular views I’ve ever seen – and it was the perfect spot to photograph this dress. We travelled up a single road to get to there…kinda cool…kinda scary…but our short stay was wonderful.

Funny story about this dress –  I made it the day before we left! The fabric was just so beautiful, I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I had to make something! The artist is Tanya Whelan and I couldn’t find this exact fabric online again, but you can find similar beautiful florals from her HERE. This time instead of a scoop neck, I wanted to try a v-neck look. The bodice is lined  with an elastic casing in the back (to accommodate growth). Initially, the dress was meant to have straps, but I ran out of fabric *insert horror music here* and had to improvise with some ribbon that thankfully, was a perfect match.  It was also my first time adding an underskirt with tulle trimming…I’d like to think it came out pretty good considering….right?  She insisted on wearing her “golden” shoes and she even picked out her adorable headband (from:Raquel’s Headbands) and off we went to take some pictures.

And of course we got some twirling in!

She says this is her favorite dress because the twirls are so “flufflee” haha.

This is a water pump we spotted on the road down – we were curious to see if it still worked, and it did!

When I was little I use to get such a kick out of working these pumps and it was cool to see that Abbie did too.
