What’s amazing about being a part of a blog tour is that you get to see a particular pattern (in this case 3 patterns) envisioned in a number of different ways. There’s also a chance to win a super sweet prize valued at over $300 that includes fabric, gift certificates and patterns…so stick around and keep reading to see how you can get in on this! ….We had to opportunity to choose 2 or all 3 of the patterns for the tour but unfortunately I had a very limited sewing window so I ended up picking The Blue Ridge Dress by Hello Holli and the Fishtail Kimono by Chalk and Notch.

The Blue Ridge Dress is a sleeveless dress with a fitted curved bodice, high neck, single button back closure, full gathered skirt, two length options, french seams, and features bias  binding and trim. The unique bodice construction results in a beautifully finished garment inside and out, with no unfinished seams”  – cited from Hello Holli. It really is a beautifully constructed dress – you know how I love clean finishes! For my Holiday Themed Look, I chose Michael Miller’s Christmas on Brambleberry Ridge – Wild Carrot fabric and added some trim at the bottom. I don’t know, but red and white just always make me think Christmas, and I think the flower blossoms and trim somewhat look like snow flakes don’t you think?

I really love how much this red pops on her.

Next is the Fishtail Kimono by Chalk and Notch (If this name sounds familiar it’s because I did a mermaid inspired rendition before. You can find it HERE).

” The Fishtail Kimono is a loose-fitting garment with a gathered back yoke and dropped hem detail “ – cited from Chalk and Notch. I wanted a soft furry look to pair with her dress so I choose some super soft double sided minky. I love this rendition because all I did was serge the pieces together and serged the edges – no need for hemming. #win

  1. Wow, Candice!!!! This outfit is so perfect in every way!! And your daughter is so adorable — that smile!!! I love how fluffy and warm your kimono looks; it goes perfectly with that cute dress. And I think I already told you how much I love the shoes! <3

  2. Candice, this is the most adorable outfit with the sweetest details! I love your fabric and trim choice 🙂 and your kimono looks so cozy. I know my girls would love a minky version too!! XO

    1. Thank you so much Gabriela, I’m glad I could do justice to the beautiful designs you guys have worked so hard to give us! Let’s just say, I had to candy cane bribe the little to take off the Kimono! haha…she loves the snuggly-ness.
