Hey Guys,
I sewed up the Felicity Dress and Top by Bella Sunshine Designs recent and wanted to share it with you. It’s a very quick, super adorable perfect for summer type dress.
Pattern Description: The Felicity Dress & Top by Bella Sunshine Designs.
“The Felicity Dress is the perfect dress for warmer weather. The thin shoulder straps are dainty and allow your little one to soak up the sun’s rays. The pattern comes with options for either an elastic or shirred back making fitting a breeze. The option for a tucked or gathered front skirt makes this an excellent sew for beginner and intermediate seamstresses alike. The optional ruffle bottom gives a little bit of extra frill when wanted. The entire bodice and skirt is fully lined leaving no exposed seams to irritate sensitive skin. Plus, this pattern comes with options for both a top length as well as a dress length designed to hit right above the knee.” – cited from BSD website.
Pattern Sizing: 6 Months to Girls 12 – I choose to do the elastic back with a ruffled bottom. I did a size 12 months according to Abbie’s chest measurement and lengthen the skirt to a size 3.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern once you were done sewing it? YES
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes. I’ve tested numerous times for Bella Sunshine Design’s before and the instructions and illustrations have always been very easy to follow.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None.
What did you particularly like about the pattern? The Felicity Dress is perfect for summer and the triple digit weather we’ve been experience in California lately. I love that it’s a very quick sew and that the dress is fully lined, the back gathers are super cute too! Next time I think I’ll try my hand at shirring.
What did you dislike about the pattern? Not a thing.
Fabric Used: Michael Miller Fabric: Blue & White Floral Azure
Will I sew this pattern again? : Yes, I would like to make a maxi version.
