Good Morning Lovely People!

So we finally watched Disney’s Inside Out at the theater last night (well tonight, as I am writing this post), and I gotta tell you….there had to have been a crazy onion chopping ninja in the audience with us, because I found myself crying a few times. lol It was truly a great movie – if you haven’t seen it yet, JUST GO. It’ll make you want to hug yourself. #TrueStory.

Anywho, as you might have seen on my IG, I made a top for Abigail with featuring the characters of Inside Out for her to wear to go watch the movie. I’m still in love with the way her SpiderMan Peplum came out (found HERE), so I used the very same pattern. With a few more modifications:

  • I extended the back just a little more
  • used bias tape as a trim and
  • lined the entire garment with a contrasting fabric (funky green stripes).

You’ll notice that I love adding props to my layout, so imagine my excitement when I finally found another use for my glass ball paperweight! I cut a circle from yellow paper and placed it on the bottom to give it the illusion of a “Memory Ball” (from the movie) for when I took the picture – totally believable right?! haha! (Which is kind of ironic, because it’s actually still holding down paper! haha!)

In my SpiderMan Peplum post I said I was going to learn how to install an invisible zipper in a lined bodice, and so I did just that! =) Truth be told, its easier than it looks! (Perhaps, I’ll do a small tutorial 😉 )

I knew it would be nearly impossible to get a still picture of her at the theatre so we did a little photoshoot before we left home.

And this was the only decent picture I could get of her at the theatre….

That’s it for today’s blog post, thank you so much for stopping by and have a SAFE and wonderful 4th of July weekend! Talk to you soon! xoxo
