Good Morning my Lovelies!
Soooo if you follow me on IG you know, I just came back from New York!! The purpose was to support my very dear friend Mimi on her first first ever Meet&Greet and Pattern Signing for Simplicity in New York. We all love her dearly, so Adrienne, Kelly and I decided we needed to be there to help and support her however we could. It was only a mere three days but it was my first time away from my family for that long and my first All Girl Girly Time trip. The whole experience was ahhhh-mazing, minus almost being ran over by a rude pedestrian who didn’t appreciate me walking too slow in front of her, lol.
We all scheduled our flights to get in around the same time and once we all found each other at the airport, the adventure began!
With three hours to kill before we could check in to our hotel we decided to head straight to Metro Textile Corp from the airport. If you didn’t know where you were going…you’d miss the place completely! The space is tiny, but the selection of fabrics is amazing!! Ask Adrienne, she wasted no time filling up her empty suitcase (she planned accordingly). lol
This scuba knit caught our fancy and we all had to have a piece of it. Super cute right? I believe that’s Venice! I can feel a Venetian obsession coming on!
With our major fabric shopping out of the way, it was time to drop our bags off and get some food! Before we left, we made a list of all the things we wanted to do and try when we got to New York, and with the three of us being foodies, a bonafide New York Pizza was first on the list. So after walking for what felt like million miles from Metro Textiles to our Hotel to check in and drop off our luggage, we were out in search of some good pizza! Adrienne knows all the best spots and recommendations so we ended up at John’s Pizzeria, the wait was a little long (maybe it was because we were super hungry), but the pizza did not disappoint!
On our way back to the hotel Adrienne insisted that we had to try the cheesecake from this bakery, I LOOOOOOVVVEEE dessert so I was totally game! Seeing as how we were all still full from just having pizza, Kelly and I decided that we would share a slice. Adrienne, got the Carrot Cake Cheesecake and we picked the Blueberry Cheesecake….and OHHH MMYYYY GOOOOOODNESSSS…it was like biting into a delectable, creamy…soft…fluffy piece of heaven – it was so amazing! (My mouth is watering right now just writing about it! lol)
With our tummy’s full…we took a cab back to our hotel. The cab ride was insane! There were sharp turns, cars honking each other, sudden stops, and our driver came inches from hitting people at every pedestrian crossing…the other drivers refused to give the other a break…and nobody cared about the “walk” “don’t walk” signs…..I really don’t know how we survived, but we did! lol After a little rest we met up with Mimi for dinner at Sofrito (a Puerto Rican restaurant). The atmosphere was dim and loud (I wore my ear plugs) but the food was soooo good and the company was even better! =)
We all took another cab back to our hotel, and stayed up talking about nothing and everything until 2 am. I am so lucky and blessed to have shared this experience with these two amazing women. Here’s a few random sight seeing pics from our day 1:
Hope you guys enjoyed seeing Day 1, I will do another blog post about Day 2 tomorrow so please stay tuned!!!
Ahhhhhhhh love it. We had a ball. Now I want cheesecake and pizza lol
