Welcome to my stop on Coffee + Thread’s Eleena Dress Blog Tour! I was lucky enough to be one of the testers of the super darling Eleena Dress back in January (you can view that post HERE), and today I get to share with you a different version of this sweet dress for the blog tour.
“The Eleena dress is a 1960s inspired A-line dress that features an inverted pleat and an invisible zipper in the back. There are three sleeve options to choose from – short set in sleeves, long sleeves with cuffs and flutter sleeves. The unique collar completes the look. It is available in sizes 2 through 12 years.” – from CoffeeandThread.com
For my first Eleena, I used quilting cotton and made them with long sleeves, so I decided to try a different version for the blog tour. For this version I decided to make the Eleena sleeve less and I wanted a more flowy look so I used some super soft drapey salmon colored rayon I picked up from Michael Levine Inc. some time ago. I bought it because it had a cute wrinkled texture, but they disappeared when I ironed the dress. *womp womp womp* – (I should have known better!). I also decided to use a simple lace collar instead of making one, and kept the invisible zipper (you know I love me an invisible zipper! 😉 ).
Isn’t it just super cute? She surely looks like she walked out of the 60’s!
I really do love this pattern, its an easy sew with great illustrations to help you along the way. It can be made with a variety of fabrics, but the best part is that you can mix and match fabric patterns with the panels for a more fun look (like I did in my first version). You can find the Eleena dress HERE on sale for $7.00 (regular price $9.00) through March 7th, 11:59 EST. And what’s a blog tour without a giveaway? Enter the rafflecopter below for your chance to win 2 patterns of your choice from Coffee + Thread and one yard of Sarah Jane Fabric. GOOD LUCK!!!
