Hey Lovelies!

Yaaay! Finally something sewing related right?!!! I know, its been long enough…SHEESH!!  Sooooooo, I intended to sew up and review the super cute Adelaide Sundress by Townmouse before we left for Belize, but time ran up on me and I just couldn’t finish it in time. I was finally feeling a little better yesterday and so I grabbed some “Fall-ish” fabric and got er done!

The Adelaide Sundress features a very cute shoulder tie and round neckline. There are no tricky zips or closures to sew, which was perfect because sometimes I just want to make a quick and pretty sew especially after that long no-sew break (aka when we went on vacation). Here’s my review:

Pattern Description: The Adelaide Sundress By TownMouse PDF Pattern

Pattern Sizing: Going by Abigail’s measurements I made a Size 1 with a Size 2 length. The pattern ranges from a Size 1 to 10.

Did it look like the photo/drawing as advertised once you were done sewing it? : Yes, it did.

Were the instructions easy to follow?  Super easy! This is a great pattern for a beginner.

What did you particularly like about the pattern?  I really liked that this was such a quick and gratifying sew. But I especially loved that the pattern included two of my favorite finishes: french seams and topstitching. The bow is super cute too isn’t it? I do also appreciate the versatility of the dress. It is suppose to be FALL but it was 83 degrees in California today so it was perfect for today’s temperature. When the weather cools down I can always layer it.

What did you dislike about the pattern? Not at thing

Fabric Used: Quilting Cotton and Chambray. I can’t for the life of me remember where I got them from, but I can tell you that I’ve been hoarding them for a really long time. lol

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:  Instead of hemming, I made bias tape from the Chambray scraps and used that as trim. Also, instead of two front pockets I only added one.

  1. Sweetest, sweetest thing!!! (Both the dress and the model…:).)

What a darling dress! If only I were any good at sewing! This may have been the pattern that got me motivated to get started. For now, I’m pinning this. You are so talented and focused! I’m so impressed by your level of detail. Having a toddler myself, I could barely make it though the day in one piece. It’s so inspiring to see such creative productivity despite the odds.

I love the pattern – no zippers nor buttons – yaaaay!!! Love the soft colours, the bow, and pocket (for lip gloss, of course…;)). As for the thoughtfully displayed props…GORGEOUS! I know there’s a story behind those charming dried flowers! I pray thee tell…:)?

This entire post is fresh and inviting. Everything you do is so BEAUTIFUL!

    1. Thank you so much Isela! It wasn’t until this year I started sewing during the day time, before that I would have to wait until the whole house was asleep to sew. lol Their busy-ness is temporary thank goodness! haha! Yes, this pattern is really lovely, and so so easy to sew! It’s never too late to learn how to do it! *cough cough* *hint hint*

As for the props, I ran out of ideas bwahahaha…I was leaning more toward a “fall” look when I picked the fabrics, so I thought it was perfect. =) Its an old bouquet from the Mister. =)
