Hey Guys,
One Thimble Magazine is back! I can’t tell you how thrilled I am! If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that sewing for One Thimble has always been one of my favorite things to sew for. But, if you’re visiting my blog for the first time:
One Thimble Magazine is a quarterly sewing magazine produced by sewists for sewists! Each issue of One Thimble is full of 100% sewable, wearable and Instagram-able PDF sewing patterns for kids and adults that every mum can sew (and sell). We also share inspiring and informative articles to help you improve your sewing, and show. you how to start, run and expand your own handmade business.
Issue 21 of One Thimble came out last week, and with each new issue there’s a blog tour to showcase the amazing patterns, so here we are! Today is my stop on the One Thimble Blog Tour. This time around, instead of two patterns, I sewed just one: The Camden Dress – same one featured on the cover.
The Camden Dress is a super cute, and super easy dress pattern. Choose the short sleeve with vintage length for spring/summer days or the elbow sleeve, knee length in the fall/winter for school days, she will be covered in a quick and cute sew! Dolman-style sleeves, round neckline, buttons (or snaps!) in back, deep hem, and that curved waistline seam! Simply dreamy!
I’ve been holding on to this amazing fabric filled with positive affirmations from Windham fabrics and waiting for a sweet back to school pattern to use it for; the Camden dress fit the bill. I wanted something sweet, comfy and that would showcase all the words.
The entire collection is called Good Vibes and you can find them HERE.
As you are aware, I sometimes can’t help but add pockets to patters or sub zippers for button closures when I sew, but this time around, I decided to go exactly by the pattern instructions and sew the pattern as it was meant to be sewn. [I know the moon must be blue or something! Prolly best to watch out for flying pigs if you’re out today. lol]
While it is a little roomy, there’s no denying that this is an adorable age appropriate sew. It’s really such a cute and practical back to school look, ESPECIALLY FOR Green Day! (A day where they get to wear green instead of their uniforms). I will say though, my next one will have pockets for sure.
While there is some changes to the magazine, there is still a lot to sew/hack:
And lots of helpful articles to read:

I don’t know how you do all that you do. This is adorable!
Aww shucks, thank you kindly =)
Such a cute pattern and dress. My girls don’t like a lot of ruffles or fuss on their clothes so this would be a perfect pattern for them. I love the thought behind your choice of fabric.
Thank you so much Tammy =)
This fabric is a gorgeous and just perfect for strong girls. Is it available to buy now?
Yes! I linked the links to the fabric in my post =)
